This concludes our broadcast...

While not as long as the 11 seasons of M*A*S*H*, my broadcasting days at Hartford Public Access Television have now concluded. I have officially resigned from the organization to pursue my own endeavors. It's been an interesting ride over 7 years, despite the last seasons having 'jumped the shark', but it was still the place to be. And it is still the place to tune to find out what's happening in Hartford. After a brief hiatus, I will be producing programs again (right now, just acting as sponsor on Saturday Fright Special).

It's weird moving on from a place where you've been going regularly for a while, but I was starting to feel like a college 'super-senior': someone who should have graduated already but is still working on a thesis. My job title and responsibilities changed about a year ago, taking me out of video production (which is what I do) and into more administrative work. At the behest of the organization, I did so to make certain the place was running. Only problem is, I realized I was not doing my best and that, in the end, my work was suffering, while my true skills weren't being properly used. The saying, "Those who can, do, and those who can't, teach," comes to mind; I'm not a teacher.

Frankly, Public Access should be a destination for everyone: people in communities should be invited and encouraged to use the equipment to produce videos and have them aired on their public access stations. They're like libraries: an invaluable tool to be used by the people to voice their opinions. As such, I'll continue to support it. One reason for leaving is to offer others a chance that opportunity; I'm happy to say, that is happening.

As for the scuttlebutt surrounding certain issues... if you didn't like me there, there's no reason to be reading my blog. So it goes...

Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen (with apologies to the genii behind M*A*S*H*)

Now, let's produce some video!
