Get Your Vote On: Primary Day in Hartford (and around CT)

Hey all you Democrats (and you few Republicans): It's Primary Day in Hartford (and around CT), so get your party on and go vote. I stopped being a Democrat-poseur and until Mark Twain or Dwight Eisenhower returns, can never be a labeled a Republican, so I can't vote for the people seeking to work for the city nor vote against the jackals that seek to damage our community. Over at The 40 Year Plan, Ken Krayeske offers some insight into some of the candidates, specifically at the Abe Giles v. Marie Kirkley-Bey fight. CT News Junkie offers an interview with Marie Kirkley-Bey. And Christopher Keating at Capitol Watch provides some sound bites from members of the legislative about the contested fight between Kirkley-Bey and Giles.

So, please get informed before heading to the polls today!

I will say this, I was very tempted at one point to register as a Republican to vote against the assclown running for Registrar of Voters, but that would only undermine the process. If ever the Republican party needed an infusion of energy, it is in the city of Hartford where Mark Twain sat on city council as a Republican. However, the endorsed Registrar has been in there for a while as an assistant Registrar and it will be interesting to see him get out from under the shadow of the current registrar.

Of all the things that annoy me about Abe Giles, what gets me most is his attempt to cash in on Senator Barack Obama's fame. Giles can't hold a candle to the change Sen. Obama will bring; in fact, Giles sets his race and party back decades with his own questionable ethics and corruption. But he's banking on naive voters to fall for his "I support Barack Obama" line on his banners. What an Assclown.
