Pic of the day: This is a portrait I took for an article a friend is writing for a local magazine. This gentleman is Spencer Shaw, who was the first black librarian in the state of Connecticut and to serve as a Branch Manager in the Hartford Public Library. He and his family were Hartford natives. In fact, he was born and raised in Upper Albany. He's a fascinating and engaging storyteller.
