Resolving to better Hartford and ourselves in 2010

"May" by Michelle Sturges
Wishing you a very Happy New Year in 2010! Our new year's resolution is to continue to bring you as much info, events, photos, and highlights about Hartford as we can (and hopefully more this year). The biggest resolution I'm trying to stick to and hoping you all can help: let's be more positive about Hartford and improve the quality of life here! As a reminder to do my part and help in the way I can (via the arts), I picked up a calendar by the Hartford Prints! Project. This calendar was made by ten Hartford Public High School Students, employed by Adrienne Gale to learn printmaking. It was made possible last year by the Hartford Arts & Heritage Jobs Grant Program. Having the hand-crafted work of our youth on the wall will serve to remind me that art is a necessity to communicate and nurture community, and that the future of our community requires more communication and nurturing with all ages.
