Photographs and the Portfolio

Contrary to popular belief, a baby model does not require a professional photography session for the purpose of compiling a professional portfolio. If the parent has a reasonable quality digital camera that takes high-definition shots, or a good quality 35 millimeter outfit, they can manage to take adequate and even superb quality photos. Basically, three types of photos should be included in the photo portfolio: a close up of the face and top of the shoulders, with a few different face profiles, if you wish; an overall body photo and an action shot showing the child in the act of some favorite play activity.

The photos should be taken in natural lighting sans flash so there are no flares or distracting shadows. It’s perfectly acceptable to use a software program like Adobe Photoshop Elements to refine and crop the picture, yet no special effects or special imaging techniques should be used—the photo should be realistic in tone, appearance and setting. A physical description should be included on the side or underneath the photo that includes the child’s full name, height, weight, age, hair and eye color, shirt, pant and shoe size. The images should be taken to a photo store and developed into 8 by 10 glossy color prints and then put into a nice presentation folder, one that might have a leather or vinyl cover with the child’s name across the front cover. Sometimes tear sheets are given to the parent who can use them in local newspaper write-ups, and they can even lead to TV and radio interviews. Pageants, Fashion Shows and Expos

Pageants, fashion shows and expos are another way of gaining exposure for your child. These venues will require a little pre-planning and execution. They often involve themes, where dress, grooming and costumes are required. This might involve a little expense for preparation and traveling, but the child is likely to gain experience in the midst of an audience or crowd and learn to adapt to the setting. Some shows and expos require a small fee, so the parent should be aware of this contingency. You can also wear makeup that is water-based and contains sunscreen and vitamins that will keep your pores open all day. A blush in a modest peach shade is best for most skin tones, or you can wear bronzer to give your skin an attractive glow that is sure to make you stand out–in a good way.
3. Wear Concealer: After you’ve applied your foundation, add concealer to any problem areas on your face. Put a little concealer under your eyes to make you look more vibrant, and add a dab of concealer to any blemishes or dark spots on your face. Remember not to overdo it on the concealer. 4. Wear Eyeshadow that Brings Out Your Eye Color: If you have brown eyes, wear variations of cream and tan eyeshadow to accentuate your eye color without wearing eye makeup that is too bold. 5. Put On a Nude Lip Color: A natural lipstick or lip gloss that makes your lips shiny and healthy is the best choice for a modeling audition. For cool skin tones, choose a shiny lip gloss or lipstick that has flecks of purple and beige is ideal. If your skin tones are warm, you’ll need a lipstick that has a light toasted almond hue with pink tones. Wear a lipliner in the same color as your lipstick or gloss to accentuate the shape of your lips. Being an actor is hard. Finding a job as an actor is even harder. I have been searching online for auditions 2015 to see what is up and coming and available to people like me. I feel like I have to look out there for what is available, and I just think that it would be better if I looked online. The internet is really a congregation of information that I can really get used to. I mean there are so many jobs out there for an actor, but I can’t just go out and find all of them. When I look on the internet, the chances that I find something I want to audition for is more likely. I feel blessed to have the internet at my disposal. I have no idea how people without the internet can live their lives the way they do. It just doesn’t make sense to me!

While NBC has allowed us to watch these Laff-a-lympics like it was
1992, other important things have happened in the solar system! It’s
true. Just ask Michael Phelps’s mother’s hairdresser, like Ryan
Seacrest just did. First of all, MARS PEOPLE. We blasted a robot car
from the Sharper Image to Mars, because why not. Late on Sunday night,
JPL geniuses eased that sucker down using parachutes and rockets
because we, as taxpayers, simply did not want to use valet parking.

Or at least that’s what they say is Mars. Looking at the photos again,
I’m not so sure. After all, that moon landing we faked in 1969 was
pretty darned popular. All we really saw Sunday night were nerds
going wild, and you can get that effect just by announcing a new
season of Firefly, amiright? For the cost of a few dozen Geek Squad
blue shirts and a crappy webcam smeared with Vaseline, you too can
fake that Mars landing. “SURE THAT’S MARS. IT IS TOTALLY NOT THE
ABANDONED LOT NEXT TO FRANK’S DRIVEWAY *snert*,” they said at the 3:30
am press conference that nobody saw.

Anyway, everybody agrees it was a glorious moment for Science, at
least until Science says things like climate change and evolution
could be real things. DEFUND NASA, THE END.
